The Perfect Formula to Burn the Most Calories
Have you ever wanted to know how to burn the most calories? Well, I know the perfect formula! I have been working out to a particular regimen that has helped me lose 3 inches off my waist. Now don’t get me wrong! I still have plenty more to lose.
And did you notice? I didn’t say how much weight I lost? That’s because I don’t really weigh myself. In fact, I don’t weigh myself for loss purposes. I just do it maybe once or twice a month to see if I am gaining any weight.
The best thing about my formula is that it works. I have tried all sorts of workouts and most of them didn’t give me the results I was looking for. The one that I felt that worked the best was the Insanity workout. The workout was hard but I was getting results. However, I had an extremely demanding job that called for very long days, so I couldn’t do it as much as I wanted.
After I lost my job, I had plenty of time to workout. Well, at first I was too depressed to do anything. Then I finally woke up and decided to take my life back. I started doing the Couch to 5K again. The idea of running 3 miles consistently was not part of the plan. I just wanted to get back into shape and lose the weight.
The Couch to 5K was working some but it wasn’t giving me the results I wanted. I had started a new job and the days got shorter because of the time change. So, I couldn’t go to the park and work out. Then the spring came and longer days came back. Now, it was time for me to really make a change.
I started the Couch to 5K again. This program is good but it really isn’t for me. Maybe for somebody else but not me. A coworker told me about another app called Interval Timer by Appxy. This app allows you to create your own HIIT (high intensity interval training). And that’s what I did.
Another thing I did was read the book, Thinner, Leaner, Stronger by Michael Matthews. I wanted a better understanding of strength training and the proper way to gain lean muscle. This book helped me create my own workout regimen. Little did I know the way I programmed my HIIT workout would go perfectly with my strength training regimen!
This is a short version of my weekly workout schedule:
Monday – HIIT
Tuesday – strength training
Wednesday – HIIT
Thursday – strength training
Friday – take a break
Saturday – HIIT and strength training
Sunday – HIIT and strength training
This is the perfect formula to burn the most calories. This is what I do every week to make my goal. As you can see, I do one of each type of workout during the week. I work a full time job, so I am not interested in overdoing it. It only takes 30 minutes out of your day to do this during the week. Obviously, it will take around an hour on the weekends to do it. You have all weekend, so you can make it work.
The reason why this is the best formula to burn calories is because of the methods used. You see, when you do HIIT, you not only burn calories while doing the workout but you also burn calories after your workout. You can keep burning calories for hours! It’s called after burn or EPOC, excess post-exercise oxygen consumption. This also works when you do strength training. So, if you are doing HIIT one day and strength training the next day, then you are burning a lot of calories.
That’s why this is the best formula to burn calories. You do need to keep in mind that this doesn’t give you free reign of the foods you are eating. You must stay in a caloric deficit to lose weight.
Again, remember that slow and steady wins the race!
