Welcome to Dumbbells and Desserts!
This isn’t your ordinary health website! You won’t see any cauliflower pizza crust recipes here.
What you will see are real recipes, real fitness, real nutrition, and real life.
You see I eat whatever I want but in moderation. I am like you. I like real food and no tricky substitutions. If you want to be really healthy, then I will help you get there. If you want to eat real food and lose weight, then I will help you get there. If you want to be fit, then I will help you get there. Whatever you need, I will do whatever it takes to help you get there.
Like I said, I am just like you. I still have a few pounds to lose. It’s a process that takes a long time. It doesn’t happen overnight nor does it happen in a month. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your life while losing weight! It may take a little longer but that’s ok because you are not alone. You got me!
I love helping people solve their problems or accomplish their goals. I am pretty good at giving solid advice. It doesn’t mean I always follow my own advice either. I have a psychology degree from Ottawa University with the intent on going further in my career in HR. Well, that didn’t happen. Life threw a huge curve ball and I had to go back to step one again.
I currently work full time and go to school part time at Tulane University to get a master’s in health and wellness. My goal is to become a wellness coach. I think the combination of my psychology degree and master’s degree will make me a great wellness coach.
While I am working full time and going to school part time, I do find time to work out. It isn’t easy but I am doing it. I hope that when people come to my blog, they know they are not the only ones out there trying to get back on track. My mantra is “slow and steady wins the race.” This should be yours as well.
